This Privacy Policy explains what information Army Pigment handles and how it is used. By using the app, you agree to this policy.
Who we are
Army Pigment is an independent hobby app that helps miniature painters catalogue paint pots, wishlists, mixes, and related hobby info. It is not owned, operated, endorsed, or sponsored by any paint manufacturer or game publisher.

What we collect
Depending on how you use the app, we may process the following.
Account information
- Email address and sign-in credentials when you create or use an account
- Sign in with Apple — when you choose that option, Apple provides us with an identifier and, depending on your Apple choices, a name and/or email (which may be a private relay address)
- Basic account settings and preferences you choose in Settings
Purchases and Premium
- Premium subscription status and related purchase records processed by Apple through the App Store / StoreKit (for example whether you are subscribed, and restore-purchase results)
- Premium is offered as a yearly subscription at USD $12.99/year (price may vary by region and is shown in the App Store / paywall at purchase time). Premium unlocks may include unlimited paints and mixes, optional iCloud sync when that feature is available and enabled, custom icons, and collection Home Screen widgets
- Hobby and Creators Home Screen widgets remain available without Premium (free)
- We do not receive or store your full payment card details; Apple handles billing
Collection data you add
- Paints you mark as owned, wishlist, low, or similar status
- Mixes (including names, notes, and mix photos you choose to save)
- Other catalogue choices you make in the app
Most of your collection data is stored on your device. Premium may include optional iCloud sync of your collection across your Apple devices when that feature is available and enabled in your version of the app; otherwise data stays on device. When iCloud sync is available and you enable it, that data is stored with Apple under your Apple ID according to Apple’s terms and privacy practices. We will keep this policy aligned with what the shipping app actually offers.
Device permissions and features
- Camera — only when you use a feature that needs it (for example barcode capture or mix photos). We do not access the camera in the background. Photos you save as part of a mix are treated as your collection content.
- App preferences — for example News topics, default paint list, haptics, and similar settings
- Home Screen widgets — Collection widgets are a Premium feature. Hobby and Creators widgets stay free. Widgets show information from your local collection and/or public hobby news or creator feeds you enable; they do not give us extra personal data beyond what the app already uses
- Diagnostics — crash or diagnostic information that Apple may provide to developers in anonymous or limited form through App Store Connect
Content we load for News
- Hobby news headlines, thumbnails, and links loaded from public news or community sources so the News section and news-related widgets can update
- Opening an article typically opens the publisher’s page (for example in an in-app browser). We do not republish full third-party articles inside Army Pigment
Sharing you initiate
- If you use share cards or the system share sheet, the content you choose to share is sent to the destination you pick (Messages, Mail, other apps). That destination’s privacy practices apply after you share.
What we do not do (current product)
- We do not sell your personal information
- We do not use your collection to serve third-party ads
- We do not collect precise location for advertising or tracking
- We do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs that track you across other companies’ apps (if that changes, this policy will be updated before release)
- Tracking = No for App Store privacy labels unless we add advertising SDKs (we do not intend to)
How we use information
We use the information above to:
- Create and run your account (including Sign in with Apple) and keep you signed in
- Provide Premium features you purchase (including unlimited paints and mixes, custom icons, and collection widgets), restore purchases, and reflect subscription status
- Show your paint locker, wishlist, mixes, and settings
- Power Home Screen widgets you add (collection widgets require Premium; Hobby and Creators widgets are free)
- Optionally sync collection data via iCloud when that Premium feature is available and enabled
- Load News headlines and links
- Improve reliability and fix bugs
- Respond if you contact support
- Honor account deletion requests
Sharing
We share information only when needed to operate the app, for example:
- Apple — App Store distribution, Sign in with Apple, in-app purchases and subscriptions, device services, and optional iCloud sync when available and enabled by you
- Service providers — solely to host accounts, email, or support if we use them (we will name them here before they go live if not already covered by Apple)
- Legal — if required by law or to protect rights, safety, or the integrity of the service
We do not sell or rent your data to paint brands, game publishers, or marketers.
Third-party brands and news
Paint brand and product names (for example Citadel, Vallejo, The Army Painter, Scale75, P3, AK Interactive, and others) appear so you can identify products you already buy or want. Showing those names does not mean those companies receive your personal data from us, and it does not create an affiliation with them.
News links and images come from public hobby or community sources. Publishers’ sites have their own privacy practices.
Children
Army Pigment is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us at the email above and we will delete it.
Data retention
- Local collection data stays on your device until you delete it or remove the app
- Account data is kept while your account is active
- Purchase and subscription records are also governed by Apple’s systems
- If you use optional iCloud sync when available, Apple retains that synced data under your Apple ID until you remove it or disable sync according to Apple’s controls
- Delete account: You may delete your account in Settings, or by emailing armypigment@icloud.com. We will delete or de-identify account data we control within a reasonable time, except where we must retain something for legal reasons. Deleting the app from a device does not by itself cancel an App Store subscription — manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID subscription settings
Your choices
- Use local features without creating an account where the app allows it
- Choose Sign in with Apple (including Hide My Email where Apple offers it)
- Deny camera permission (barcode and mix-photo features will not work)
- Purchase, restore, or decline Premium; manage or cancel subscriptions in Apple’s subscription settings
- Enable or disable optional iCloud sync when that feature is available in your version of the app
- Remove Home Screen widgets
- Delete the app (removes local data on that device)
- Delete your account via Settings or by emailing armypigment@icloud.com
International users
If you use the app from outside the United States, you understand that information may be processed in the United States (for example via Apple’s services). Where required by law, we will provide additional notices or choices.
Changes
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date will change. We will post the new version at the same public URL and link it from the app (Settings). Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy, except where applicable law requires a different approach.

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your download and use of the Army Pigment mobile application. By downloading or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
1. What Army Pigment is
Army Pigment is an independent hobby utility for miniature painters. It helps you catalogue paints, track a personal collection and wishlist, save mixes, use Home Screen widgets (collection widgets are Premium; Hobby and Creators widgets are free), share cards you create, follow hobby news links, and — with an account — sign in (including Sign in with Apple) and use Premium features.
Army Pigment is not an official store, manufacturer product, or licensed companion app for any game system or paint brand.
2. Independent app — no affiliation (important)
Army Pigment is not affiliated with, associated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, approved by, or connected to any paint manufacturer, game publisher, or retailer, including without limitation:
- Games Workshop Limited; Warhammer; Citadel; Citadel Colour; and related marks
- Acrylicos Vallejo, S.L. and Vallejo product lines
- The Army Painter ApS / The Army Painter and related products
- Scale75
- Privateer Press and P3 paints
- AK Interactive
- And any other brand or product names that appear in the catalogue
Brand and product names appear only so you can identify paints you may own or want in a personal catalogue. That reference use does not imply sponsorship, endorsement, partnership, joint venture, or any other relationship with those companies.
We do not claim ownership of those companies’ trademarks, logos, trade dress, bottle designs, packaging, or other brand assets. Army Pigment does not use borrowed company logos. Stylized presentation, generic bottle art, or in-app typography is Army Pigment’s own UI — not an official brand mark.
Do not treat Army Pigment as an official Games Workshop, Citadel, Vallejo, Army Painter, or other manufacturer product. You agree not to represent the app (or yourself using the app) as affiliated with those companies.
Catalogue entries, colours on screen, barcode matches, and product details can be incomplete, inaccurate, or out of date. Always verify with the manufacturer or retailer before buying. On-screen colour will not perfectly match a physical pot.
3. Eligibility
You must be able to form a binding contract in your place of residence. The app is not directed at children under 13. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the app only with a parent or guardian’s permission where required.
4. Your account
You may create or use an account, including via Sign in with Apple. You must provide accurate information and keep your sign-in secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. We may suspend or close accounts that misuse the service or violate these Terms.
Delete account: You may delete your account in Settings, or by emailing armypigment@icloud.com, as described in the Privacy Policy. Deleting your account does not automatically cancel an active App Store subscription — cancel or manage subscriptions in your Apple ID subscription settings.
5. Your content
Mixes, notes, photos, collection choices, and similar content you add remain yours. You grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to store, process, and display that content solely so the app can work for you (including widgets, share cards you generate, and optional iCloud sync when that Premium feature is available and enabled).
Do not upload content you have no right to use, or content that is illegal, harmful, or infringing.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the app to harass others or break the law
- Misuse barcode, search, sharing, or other features
- Reverse engineer the app except where allowed by law
- Attempt to disrupt servers, services, or other users
- Suggest or imply that Army Pigment is an official app of Games Workshop, Citadel, Vallejo, The Army Painter, Scale75, P3, AK Interactive, or any other manufacturer listed or shown in the catalogue
- Scrape, republish, or redistribute third-party news articles obtained through the app beyond normal personal use of links
- Abuse restore purchases, subscriptions, or account features
7. News and third-party links
News headlines, images, and links may come from third-party hobby or community sources. We do not control those sites. Their content, accuracy, and policies are their own. Opening a link may take you to the publisher’s page (including in an in-app browser). Army Pigment is not responsible for third-party pages or for content you find there. News in the app is headlines and links — we do not republish full third-party articles.
8. Premium, subscriptions, and restore purchases
Army Pigment offers optional Premium features sold as an auto-renewable yearly subscription through the Apple App Store at USD $12.99/year (price may vary by region and is shown in the App Store / paywall at purchase time). Payment is charged to your Apple ID. Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, according to Apple’s rules.
Manage or cancel your subscription in your device’s Apple ID → Subscriptions settings (or the equivalent App Store subscription management screen). Restore purchases is available in the app so you can regain Premium access on devices signed in with the same Apple ID after reinstall or on a new device.
Premium unlocks may include unlimited paints and mixes, custom icons, collection Home Screen widgets, and — when available and enabled in your version of the app — optional iCloud sync of your collection across your Apple devices; otherwise collection data stays on device. Hobby and Creators Home Screen widgets stay free and do not require Premium. Feature availability can vary by version and platform; the in-app paywall and Settings describe what you get.
Apple’s App Store terms and Licensed Application End User License Agreement also apply to purchases. Refunds are handled by Apple according to Apple’s policies.
9. “As is” and limitation of liability
THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE FULLEST EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
Catalogue accuracy, barcode matches, colour appearance on screen, widget content, news content, and sync availability are not guaranteed.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST DATA, PROFITS, OR COLLECTION INFORMATION, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE APP IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE APP OR PREMIUM FEATURES IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) USD $50.
Some places do not allow certain limitations; in those places, our liability is limited to the maximum permitted by law.
10. App Store / Apple
If you downloaded the app from the Apple App Store, you also acknowledge Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement terms that apply between you and Apple. Apple is not responsible for maintenance or support of Army Pigment. Claims related to the app are between you and the developer (Nathan Lynn), not Apple, except where Apple’s rules say otherwise. Apple and Apple’s subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms solely as needed to enforce Apple’s EULA rights.
In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple. Apple’s privacy practices apply to payment and Apple ID data.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms. The “Last updated” date will change. Continued use after changes means you accept the new Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the app and delete it. Changes to subscription pricing or terms will follow App Store requirements.

13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer laws in your place of residence say otherwise.
